The winds of change are a-blowing.

After a month of prayer and thinking hard about this little business of ours, we are making some changes.

One of the biggest changes is our prices. We've always strived to keep our prices the most affordable in our industry. Because of our low costs and high quality of work, our wait lists have gotten quite unmanageable. We have currently raised prices across the board in order to manage our waiting period a little easier as well as keep up with the costs of the art and supplies we purchase to make our products with.

Although we didn't publicize it, back in October of 2010, we decided to opt out of the blog design end of our business. We have two favorite designers that we are happy to refer you to for all of your blog and web design needs.

We also have begun shifting our time management to accommodate our corporate customers and their needs as well. In the last six months, our corporate customer market has grown so large that we are, in some cases, hiring out some of the work load. We're hoping to manage that to where most corporate orders can be filled, in-house, in a very timely fashion.

We will be delighted to start introducing you to some new designers that will be joining our team over the next few months.

We look forward to serving you for all of your design needs!

Happy Holidays!

It has been a pleasure designing your holiday cards for 2010. At this point, we are no longer accepting holiday card orders. We are considering ourselves "semi-closed" for the holiday season through January 3, 2011. If you are a Wickedly Chic customer needing an ad, we will still be able to assist you during the holidays. Just email us at designingkristi@gmail.com. All other design requests before January 3rd will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If your design is already in progress, we will certainly finish it in the time period discussed with you.

IMPORTANT FILE STORAGE INFORMATION:
The weekend of December 18-19th, we will be cleaning house...all files from the previous year will be purged. This includes holiday cards, invitations, blog designs, Wickedly Chic ads (this includes WC advertisers only, actual design for WC, non-ad related, will be retained), etc. In October, we stopped the blog design end of our business. If you had your blog designed with us within the past eight months and would like the unflattened PSD files, we are happy to oblige. These can be passed on to another designer to use.

Since opening, we have learned that our DIGITAL DEALS are the most popular choice by far...and this year, we will ONLY be doing DIGITAL DEALS. For the holidays, we'd like to make this even more cost efficient for you. If you would like to choose a pre-designed card from our Holiday Design Gallery (coming November 2nd), I will switch out with your photos and personal message and charge $10 for the card file. You will receive your file within 24 hours. Then you can print your cards wherever you like. I highly recommend Winkflash for the best bang for your buck. You can also use Snapfish, Shutterfly or Walmart, too. And Walgreens can print in less than 24 hours.

However, if you want that special custom card for the holidays (custom IS our specialty), I am more than happy to help with that. Custom cards will be $20 for the digital file. Turnaround from me is around 48 hours. Again, everything about this card will be customized for you and your family. We are currently in the (somewhat overwhelming) process of switching to a new server and host. What we thought would take a week, will probably be more like a month (or so).

April is Autism Awareness month. I am blessed to be the mom of this amazing five-year-old pictured above, Benjamin. In 2008, he was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. We have been so fortunate to have met some wonderful people in our journey to know more and get Benjamin all the help he needs. One organization that has truly touched our lives is the Flying Vikings. To read about Benjamin's personal Flying Vikings adventure, click here.

Although the Flying Vikings help children with a wide range of special needs, not just autism, we are especially grateful to them for the day they gave us and our son. In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we will be donating 25% of all our profits to this organization throughout April. In January, we will be doing a clean sweep of hard drives in order to maximize our performance on our systems. This year, I will be putting together Holiday Blogs using the new blended header feature (as featured below in the Wickedly Chic blog).

All Holiday Blog Designs will include your blended header (with the coordinating papers and up to three photos in the header) and matching outer paper (most prefer the solid as featured above). Inner paper is white or cream with a coordinating frame. One holiday signature also included.

2009 Holiday Card Guidelines

I am doing holiday cards a bit differently than last year, so please read carefully as some policies have changed.

THE BEST DEAL AROUND. . .

Since opening, I have learned that my DIGITAL DEALS are the most popular choice by far. For the holidays, I'd like to make this option even more cost efficient for you. If you would like to choose a pre-designed card from The Holiday Design Gallery, I will switch out with your photos and personal message and charge $10 for the card file. You will receive your file within 24 hours. Then you can print your cards wherever you like. I highly recommend Winkflash for the best bang for your buck. You can also use Snapfish, Shutterfly or Walmart, too. And Walgreens can print in less than 24 hours.

However, if you want that special custom card for the holidays, I am more than happy to help with that. Custom cards will be $20 for the digital file. Turnaround from me is around 48 hours. Again, everything about this card will be customized for you and your family. But, if you need a little direction to get started, feel free to check out my Holiday Design Kits and let me know if you have a favorite that you'd like me to base your card off of.

PRINTING GUIDELINES

If you would like me to print your cards for you, I am still honoring the $1 per card deal (this includes envelopes). Since I am able to offer this price, I use a printing company that is located abroad and I need to account for their shipping timelines. I require three weeks to print your cards from the time you place your order. I will not be taking orders for printed cards after December 1st.

Design fees are waived for printing if you choose a card from our Holiday Design Gallery. If you would like a custom card, there is a $20 design fee.

Minimum number required for printing is 60 cards.

A few questions answered:

Q: Will you make a custom Baggie Taggie Design for our group (cheerleaders, scouts, preschool)? And sell for a discount?

A: Of course, I will! And several of you mentioned that your place of business already owns the luggage tag laminating machines. I am happy to create a CUSTOM digital file for you for $10.

If you are interested in ordering taggies for your group, there is the $10 design fee and the cost will be a group rate of $3 per taggie. This will not include ribbons. I will be happy to embellish with ribbon for an extra $1 per tag.

If you are needing to add your school logo to your taggie, make sure you have copyright permission.

Q: I'd like taggies for each season for my child's bag. Can you make holiday designs, too?

A: What a great idea! I will be happy to create those. Let me catch up on orders in the next week and I will roll out some holiday designs to choose from!

To celebrate our new product, BAGGIE TAGGIES, let's give away two sets of Baggie Taggies (2 per set) and one deluxe FAMILY set (a taggie for every family member, up to FIVE, this is a $25 value).

We will begin taking regular orders for Baggie Taggies on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

The Baggie Taggies from Kristi's are a little different....they are on a metal ring to avoid the usual tearing that other taggies sustain over time. And they are contained in a plastic pouch instead of the traditional laminated one. The plastic is more durable and will hold up a lot longer. Each comes with coordinating ribbon. They are two sided: one side for a monogram or name, the other for identification information or a scripture.

I am super excited to announce that I figured out the hack to create a rotating header for blogger. As in, every time you visit your blog, you'll see a different header (up to five different images). And to reassure you, blogger hacks are legal...not as sinister as they sound!
The possibilities for rotating headers are endless...a header for each family member, headers with different scriptures or quotes and much more.

Somebody Stop Me!

For some reason, purchasing new design packs is highly addictive for me. And I. Can't. Stop. Seriously....it's getting out of hand. I was looking at designer Dani Mogstad's packs and fell in love with this one for summertime! It will be perfect for the children's line of baggie taggies I plan to debut this summer. I have also been meaning to post two recent invitation designs I completed for some wonderful friends! I love putting together invites for special events. In the next month, I am excited to create several announcements for some special graduates, as well.

The kids in our LIFE Group from church have a saying that they use when things are great....L.I.G. means "Life Is Good". And in my little business here, LIG. Definitely a big ol' LIG. Here are the current designs I am working on or have just finished...again LIG!

Stephanie had a FUN blog to work with! Not only did we create a blog design for her, we also came up with a coordinating Etsy banner and avatars for her handmade baby boutique. Her Etsy shop (Zen Bebe) has some C-U-T-E stuff! Stephanie used the Whimsy package.

Shaka was one of the big winners of the free blog make-overs. This is just her proof, I have a couple of revisions to make before we roll out the final result. Shaka has very cool taste and I loved playing around with her photos making them look "photo-booth-esque". Shaka used the Fabulous design pack.

I always LOVE working on a Lauren blog! Lauren is a very close friend and was my little sis in club at ACU. She has an adorable little girl who is a great focus for her family's blog. Heart-shaped sunglasses...can you get any more adorable? Lauren used the Bloomin' pack (in my head, when I say "Bloomin'", it comes out very Ross Gellar from the episode where he is trying to get Rachel the old lady's apartment).

What We're Up To Over Here...

I have been hanging out in Photoshop a lot the last week or so! The give-a-way/sale gave some serious length to my wait list. I am plowing through the designs as fast as I can. And having a BLAST using the new design packs!

Here's a few designs (of a few new friends and an old one, too) I have either just finished or are in the process of uploading in the next couple of days...

Shannon's Jelby's Blog was too fun! Shannon is an old (not old, you know what I mean) friend from ACU. She was my best friend Lori's little sis in club. Lo and behold, she lives not too far from me here in Central Texas and is on the brink of opening up her new Baby Burpy Biz! And, whoa! What talent....wait until you see the burpies this girl makes. BeAuTiFuL.

This blog was created using custom papers I made that were inspired by an adorable baby's pants' fabric! I am in the process of compiling all of the papers into their own design set, entitled "Miss Gracyn's Sunday Best". Look for it soon.

Kari was so fun to work with on her Sadie Bee Blog. She's got great taste. I can't wait to see what she does with this blog! Too fun! This blog used the REVIVE paper pack:

Sarai was given a gift certificate to Kristi's by a wonderful customer. She, too, chose the REVIVE paper pack. I also incorporated the ribbon butterfly from the BLOOMIN' pack. She's been super fun to work with and this design is almost ready to roll out...

Hilary's design is also still "in the works", but almost ready to go! She chose the spring-y PICNIC pack. Her photos were gorgeous to work with and I am really loving how this one is coming along....

Spring Has Sprung!

Since the temperature is starting to rise, we thought we'd add some new design packs for blogs that are HOT, HOT, HOT! Please welcome the two new designers I'll be adding: Krista Ringham & Dani Modstad. I am using some of their gOrGeOuS creations for the coolest blog designs this season.

To celebrate the start of spring and the new design packs...we are doing a good old-fashioned GIVE-A-WAY!

Here's how to submit your name (there are options to have your name entered more than once in the give-a-way):

Each blog makeover includes a custom header using the elements and papers from the design kit of your choice, a background paper, an inner paper (this is optional; many customers prefer a white or cream background), up to four custom signatures for each person who posts to your blog and up to 10 header labels for your side bar. (Labels do not include photos. If you would like to add photos to your labels or have me help you add them to your page elements, the fee is $2 per photo.) Additional signatures and header labels (without photos) are $1 each.

To see a few examples of blog headers I have done in the past, click here. Keep in mind the design sets used on some of these examples are no longer available. They will, however, give you a good idea of what the header, (aka, the "show piece" of your blog) can look like.

All of this for $30!

I will also be happy to help you with a la carte items as well:
Custom blog headers (up to 3 photos) are $12, each additional photo is $2 each.
Signatures are $5 each.
Labels are 10 for $10 (sold as a package set).
Grab Me Buttons are $10.

Blog Revision Guidelines:
I strive for you to fall completely in love with your blog! The process starts out with a design that I put together, you look at a proof and we make revisions. I also do one extra set of revisions to make sure it is perfect before I load it onto your actual blog. However, if you need changes after the second set of revisions, they are $5 per revised item per additional revision (items include headers, labels, signatures, paper changes).

How do you begin?

Please send an email to designingkristi@gmail.com letting me know that you want a blog design. I will email you a short questionnaire to get a feel for what you want in your makeover. When I receive your answers back (along with photos and such), you will be added to my blog design list. I strive to have your proof available to view within 2 weeks (give or take). Your proof will be up on one of my proofing blogs for 48 hours for you to decide on revisions. Once complete, we will upload onto your own blog for you and your viewers to enjoy!
